960gs Basics & Drupal
In preparation for my upcoming presentation at Drupalcon San Fransisco on the Omega theme and Elevating 960gs in Drupal with the Omega theme, I wanted to prepare a short intro to the 960gs concepts.
There will be a session by Todd from Four Kitchens just prior to mine (in the same room even) where Todd will discuss Accelerated grid theming using NineSixty and the 960gs background and basics. Everyone SHOULD attend this session prior to mine unless you already have a good understanding of 960gs and the classes involved with it, and the usage. For those who may not have been able to see both, I'll put up this 30 minute introduction to 960gs in Drupal that will serve as the beginner intro to 960.
This will also be a presentation (modified some later) to present locally at meetups to further push the basics of 960gs.
So, if you haven't yet discovered the wonder of both the 960gs and my Omega theme, be sure to see these related items in addition to this intro video:
- Drupalcon Paris - Accelerated grid theming using NineSixty - Presentation by Todd & I at Drupalcon Paris related to the 960gs
- DrupalCamp Montreal - Advanced 960gs theming with Omega - First iteration of my Omega presentation given at Drupacamp Montreal
Also be sure to attend these sessions at Drupalcon San Fransisco to further your knowledge of the 960gs.
- Accelerated grid theming using NineSixty - Tuesday 9:45 a.m. Room 306
- Elevating 960gs in Drupal with the Omega theme - Tuesday 11:00 a.m. Room 306
The slides for this presentation can be viewed on Google Docs.

great resource
Hey Sir, great resource... thanks for posting this.
A lot of ums in there.
A lot of ums in there. Otherwise good stuff.
I'm sure there are...
I'm sure there are a lot of uhms and ahhhhs in there... This was really a break from what I was supposed to be working on.
As I removed these basic slides from my new presentation, I didn't want to lose them, so organized them into a new "short" presentation.
The screencast was done in one shot without preparation, so I was just kinda winging it on what points to touch on, and I do have a lot of uhms in that situation I suppose!! ;)
