Twitter uses more memory than Gmail

I've been playing with the awesome Google Chrome all day now, and love it so far. I was messing around with the built-in Task Manager that Chrome offers to manage how each site/tab is eating memory, or bandwidth and CPU usage.

The following is what I saw:

Now my simple question isn't related to this fantastic new web browser, but my question is why in the hell is Twitter using more memory than Gmail???? Twitter doesn't have any fancy auto-updating on the page I have loaded, nothing that should be eating up that much memory in comparison to the hog that Gmail "should" be!!

Found the memory issue...

After some investigating, I found that the issue only occurs after refreshing twitter a dozen times or so.

At first, it starts out at around 14MB of memory, then after refreshes, seems to not let go, and then steadily climbs and climbs...

Very interesting, and I love the Chrome task manager, very useful for geeks!!
