It's been a few days now since my trip out to the Boston area (Southern New Hampshire), and I thought I'd post an update on some of my current personal status as well as what this will mean for my blog and other projects I've been working on for quite some time.
While I haven't got the final "approval" on the job, I'm waiting to accept an offer until tomorrow when I can have a finalized idea of just how much $$$ It's going to take to get me there. Apartment hunting cross-country is kinda tough!
When those details get finalized, I will no longer be taking any contract work on the freelance side.
This is for two reasons:
- It creates an issue regarding whose interests I have at heart with the company I will be working for
- It also creates additional stress for me to even attempt side-work for clients during what should be my down time
With that in mind... I will be converting this site, and all my sites to remove/mitigate the references to Himerus Inc. and Drupal Dynamics Inc. Those business will become defunct after my moving out of Colorado and not continuing yearly reports & fees.
The websites for those two sites will remain intact. Himerus Inc. will be there for portfolio only purposes, and have a bold header notice added to prevent people from trying to contact me. Drupal Dynamics on the other hand is a great domain name, and still has possibilities on the personal level. I will be changing content to change the theme a bit in order to use the site as a personal portfolio, or something to really drill down on Drupal oriented content. That is still to be determined.
I do have a few other side projects of my own that have never been finished. Maybe with collaboration from new co-workers, those may be sparked back to life during down time on the evenings and weekeds, but that remains unseen at the moment.
However, my main focus will return to this blog, and continuing to produce great Drupal and jQuery content, and furthering the cause of those two amazing pieces of technology.
