Omega Theme - Drupal 7 Demo
Screencast Summary:
Recently, a LOT of work has gone in the the Omega base theme for Drupal 7.
The theme has gone through 9 Alpha releases in the past few weeks, and is now at a very stable first Beta release packed with new features, and with all the major bugs ironed out, and all features tested extensively.
The above screencast demonstrates the features that were available in Drupal 6, and the new features in the Drupal 7 version. The entire demonstration is in a live Drupal 7 environment.
Many new features will have to be backported to the Drupal 6 version of Omega, and i am open for someone to help co-maintain the code base for the Omega theme for Drupal 6. If you are interested, please contact me with information including your drupal.org username/id.

Looks awesome
Looks like the D7 version is great. Exporting setting is going to be great for those working with Omega on a regular basis.
Definitely!!
The Export/Revert theme settings is going to be great for those situations where a ton of configurations are made in say, a localhost sandbox, and need to be translated to the live version, or a staging enviornment, or other co-workers sandboxes as well.
All powered by a little magic from the Omega Tools module!!

Hey Jake.
Thanks for your presentation last week at the the drupal design conf at mit. I liked your theme and 960gs approach so much that I switched the zen theme on my site to omega. The grid took a little time to getting used to but things when pretty smoothly. www.advancinginsights.com
Kind regards, Jim Wilde
Awesome Work
Very nice work, Jake. When's the HTML5 version going to be released? ;)
Fan mail
I am wildly impressed by this theme. I had my own plan to do a very similar base theme for my future use (grid-based, fixed or fluid, an admin interface to region widths, good starting typography and other basic CSS...) but now I don't need to. I know that you are bringing together what other folks have started in 960gs and so on, but I also know how tough all these requirements can be to blend into one theme. Omega is a masterful mix!
I did submit a few feature requests on the Drupal issue queue but I wanted to make sure I sent some public fan mail too. Drupal theming is my favorite part of any project and you've made it even more fun. Hopefully I'll make it to one of the Boston Drupal group events and buy you a beer.
Ace theme
I was looking through Drupal.org killing some time before I had to get to work and start on an Intranet. Actually I was seriously putting off this work - Intranets, phew. Was resigned to rolling a new theme by hand and the pain that that would bring. Problem is that most themes are no where near good enough to cope with views, panels, cck, felxible regions etc. Garland? No, we are well beyond that now. And 960, well I like it but it's not fun to do...
Then I found Omega - this is excellent. Installed it and panels worked well, everything looked themeable and CSS was pretty straightforward and I LOVE the config screen... this is the way forward for something like an Intranet, excellent stuff. I think you've saved me some theme pain and Omega is my current hot choice for faster better sites.
Fan rant over!
