Rather quitely, I launched a beta version of the new site theme today. In addition to this theme launch, the entire site was rebuilt. While a backup copy is present, much of the "poor" content has been left out, and comments have not been converted to the new site.
This will result in a fair amount of 404 errors, but I'm confident that all will be fine with the current minimal traffic the site has been recieving.
I will be continuing to perfect the theme/site over the next several weeks. As most of us know, it's a never ending process to actually finish a site, and have it be "perfect". However, I do have a short list of things to be integrated, and a few jQuery features to build in so that the site is where I really "want" it to be.
Once I have a little more of the "major" items lined out, and implemented, I will also be working on a review of the 960gs theme for Drupal that I used to develop this new theme.

Nice theme, Jake!
Very cool Drupal theme, Jake... nice work!
(publish to facebook is broken though)
Thanks Seth!
Thanks Seth! It is still incomplete in some areas, and doesn't include all hte cool features I was intending to implement based on my design...
But as the need came up to test the 960gs theme as an option, and then later discovering the Fluid 960gs, I really wanted to just play with the layout and get the theme working in both versions. So there is the default theme using the 960gs system, and a sub-theme that ONLY overwrites the primary CSS for the grid in order to accomplish the layout switch.I later realized someone had already implemented a Fluid 960 theme on Drupal.org, but I had alread rewritten the CSS to match the way the default 960 theme works, so I will keep using my own for the Fluid layout purposes.
Both themes are set up to work well with 1, 2 or no sidebars, and expands appropriately. I hope to finish out the site, and touch up on some spotty areas over the next few weeks!
